  • What is prescription weight loss?
Our prescription weight loss involves the use of compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide (which are effective alternatives to popular medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound) to help individuals lose weight under the supervision of a healthcare provider. These medications can help reduce appetite, increase feelings of fullness, and decrease fat absorption. They are a once a week subcutaneous (under the skin) injection. Very easy to do and virtually painless!
  • How do semaglutide and tirzepatide work and what is the difference between them?
Semaglutide and tirzepatide are medications that mimic hormones in your body that help regulate appetite and blood sugar levels. They work by slowing down gastric emptying, reducing hunger, and increasing feelings of fullness, which can help with weight loss. Semaglutide works by mimicking the GLP-1 hormone, which regulates appetite, slows down stomach emptying, and stimulates insulin release. This helps you feel full longer, reduces food intake, and controls blood sugar levels. Tirzepatide is a dual GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 receptor agonist. It works by combining the effects of both GIP and GLP-1 hormones, which enhance insulin secretion, slow gastric emptying, and reduce appetite, leading to better blood sugar control and weight loss. Both semaglutide and tirzepatide are effective for weight loss, but tirzepatide tends to be more effective and people get less side effects with it, due to it having 2 components instead of just 1 that semaglutide does. It is more expensive though, so some people like to start with semaglutide and switch if needed.
  • What dose will I start at?
Everyone starts at the lowest dose if they have never taken these medications before and we can adjust every 4 weeks as needed.
  • Who is eligible for prescription weight loss treatment?
Prescription weight loss treatment is generally available for individuals with a body mass index (BMI) of 24 or higher (less if on maintenance phase of treatment). Exclusions include personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma; someone diagnosed with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndrome Type 2 (MEN 2); known allergy to the medications; diagnosis of type 1 or 2 diabetes; history of pancreatitis; and those pregnant (or planning to becoming pregnant) or breastfeeding. Our healthcare providers will evaluate your health status to determine if you are a suitable candidate.
  • Are there any side effects associated with semaglutide and tirzepatide?
Like all medications, semaglutide and tirzepatide can have side effects. Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, and reflux. Most people experience only mild side effects that are easily treatable.
  • How long will it take to see results?
Weight loss results can vary from person to person. Many patients start to see results within the first few weeks of treatment, with more significant weight loss occurring over several months. Our providers will work with you to track your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
  • Is the weight loss program covered by insurance?
We do not accept insurance at Recharge Wellness. Check with your insurance company to see if they provide coverage of GLP1 medications, but most plans do not. We set our prices to be affordable and you can use a HSA/FSA card for payment.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit card (including HSA or FSA card), Zelle, or Venmo.
  • What is mobile IV therapy?
Mobile IV therapy involves administering intravenous (IV) fluids, vitamins, minerals, and medications directly into your bloodstream through a vein. Recharge Wellness offers this service at your home, office, or any convenient location within our service area. This service is designed to provide you with the benefits of IV therapy without the need to visit a clinic.
  • Do I need a medical consultation before receiving an IV treatment?
Yes, before receiving IV therapy, all patients must complete a quick telehealth consultation with a licensed medical provider to ensure the treatment is safe and appropriate for you. This consultation takes only a few minutes, costs $30, and is valid for one year, meaning you won’t need to repeat it for future IV treatments within that timeframe. During the consult, the provider will review your medical history and approve you for treatment. This approval is required for all patients, and the consultation fee is separate from the IV therapy cost.
  • How does the mobile IV therapy process work?
After booking an appointment, you will complete our medical and consent forms and a telehealth consultation. Then our emergency certified registered nurse will arrive at your location with all necessary equipment. The nurse will assess your needs, insert the IV line, and administer the IV treatment. The entire process typically takes 45-60 minutes. Our goal is to provide a convenient and comfortable experience for you.
  • Is mobile IV therapy safe?
Yes, mobile IV therapy is safe when administered by trained and certified healthcare professionals. Our team follows strict protocols to ensure your safety and comfort during the therapy session, with oversight provided by a board-certified physician. We prioritize your well-being and adhere to the highest standards of care.
  • Who is not eligible for IV treatments?
Those with severe kidney disease, congestive heart failure, or those experiencing a medical emergency cannot receive our IV treatments. Your medical history will be evaluated by our health care professionals beforehand to ensure safe, appropriate treatment.
  • Can more than one person receive an IV at a time?
Yes! In fact, we provide a discount for groups of 3 or more people.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit card (including HSA or FSA card), Zelle, or Venmo.
